Evaporators for Waste Industry - Waste and Recycling - Landfill
Landfill leachate, in collectors, landfills and incinerators, is the outcome of percolation and leaching phenomena from stockpiled waste. The leachate produced by the waste in the landfill is an extremely pollutant effluent: it contains a significant percentage of ammonia, COD, heavy metals and salinity (chlorides and sulfates). It is therefore hard to treat and requires high effective treatment processes to comply with the very strict limits for discharging operations. Our wastewater evaporation technologies for the landfill leachate water treatment are an effective solution in treating highly polluted, concentrated landfill waste, very difficult to treat by traditional processes.
Application Details
Landfill leachate treatment through evaporation technologies
Leachate water treatment through evaporation technologies and membranes is based on the separation of water from a water-based solution. The outcomes of the leachate treatment plant are:
- condensate or permeate: the main stream representing the majority of the original flowrate containing water.
- concentrate: the smaller flow containing the majority of the pollutants; it can be sent to further super-concentration steps, to disposal or to incineration/inertization.
The solutions applied in the landfill leachate treatments can be used also for waste coming out from:
- wastewater collector
- digestate
- gas scrubbers
- composting
EVALED® leachate treatment system: a technological solution for leachate disposal
Amongst leachate treatment options, EVALED® evaporators are a technological solution which allows to exploit the biogas cogeneration for the full or partial power supply of the plant within the limits of the environmental regulations.
EVALED® leachate wastewater treatment processes are the solution for:
- Leachate and industrial wastewater volumes reduction
- Reducing the relevant costs for thermal energy and leachate disposal
- Adaptability to the incoming effluent changes
- Biogas cogeneration exploitation
- Compliance with discharge regulations
The evaporation technologies for this solution are the forced circulation EVALED RV evaporators and vacuum EVALED AC evaporators powered by hot/cold water coming from cogeneration.
