Industrial monitoring solutions for the flue gas desulphurisation areas - Monitoring and Testing
Most large coal fired plants have a flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) plant to lower SO2 levels to below emission limit levels. The CODEL GCEM 40 series is used to monitor SO2 levels after the FGD to ensure they are below required levels and to ensure that the process is not too efficient and using too much sorbent. In addition, many plants monitor pre and post the FGD to ascertain the efficiency of the plant.
Overview Application/Industries Served
On many plants there is a requirement to monitor the mass flow of the exhaust gases in to the FGD; this is used to control the FGD inlet fan to ensure the correct amount of gas is allowed to ingress into the plant. The VCEM 5100 is ideal for this application as it can cope with the very high temperatures and dust loadings without requiring continual attention.
