2.4MW Roof Mounted Photovoltaic Systems Install Hawaii Airport Case Study

The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Airports Division has partnered with REC Solar to install roof mounted photovoltaic systems at their two largest facilities–Honolulu International and Kahului Airports. The Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative, in conjunction with the State of Hawaii and The US Department of Energy, have set goals to achieve an astounding 70% clean energy by 2030. These are the most aggressive renewable energy goals in the US. Not only will this achievement rank Hawaii as a world leader in renewable energy, but will also function to stabilize and increase the independence of their local economy.
