Calophyllum inophyllum and its common English label is Alexandrian laurel is a coastal tree with a grey or black bark. It grows 12 to 14 metres high, has thick, dark leaves, each with a prominent mid-rib and parallel veins.. Its clustered flowers, blooming in winter, are white and fragrant. The fruit is spherical with a smooth, greenish-yellow skin.By using Calophyllum inophyllum tree for biodiesel production and then utilizing the waste for further oil extraction. Using current proven sate of art agronomy, enhanced cultivator and technologies developed by BBA, the biodiesel from Calophyllum inophyllum would be economically viable.

The Calophyllum inophyllum Biodiesel can be produced< US$ 50 per barrel without taking into account by-products revenue. If we credit the revenue from by-products like press cake, glycerin, leaves etc.  Biodiesel can be produced @ no cost, see detailed economics below
