GTI’s cover for the town of Creston lasts 20 years - case study
The Town of Creston, British Columbia, Canada, operates an anaerobic digester to treat brewery wastewater. Biogas is used to fuel a boiler for process heating. The system was approaching 20 years old and the cover, originally built by GTI, required replacement. The anaerobic digester had to remain in service while the covers were changed.
The cover was replaced with an updated GTI gas collection cover. GTI’s floating beams provided a fast and safe installation. The beams provide ample space for biogas collection and additional buoyancy.
Replacement time was just under two weeks, reducing errant emissions and eliminating odor complaints. The new cover is designed to provide up to 20 more years of continuous service.
