A heat recuperator absorbs an important part of the calorific energy from gases generated in the combustion of a solid, liquid or gaseous fuel in the process of: melting, heating, toasting, drying, etc. of an specific product. The calorific energy absorbed is transmitted to another fluid, mostly combustion air for the process and fuel saving is so important that the recuperator is amortized in few months (see attached graphic “Fuel saving from combustion air pre-heating”), also achieving a drastic reduction of greenhouse effect gases emissions.
The structure of the financial expenses of automotive businesses and boiler plants is quite varied, though it still allows to identify the main expenditures. First of all, it is the fuel, which accounts for no less than 40% of all costs. Fuel homogenization devices are designed to increase the quality of combustion, thereby saving resources. Homogenized fuel features good performance, burns cleaner, increases the efficiency of boilers and has a sparing effect on the environment. How to make homogenized fuel? Gen...
Easy Access to Savings on Board Ships - Case Study
Grindrod Shipping, owner and manager of IVS and Unicorn Tankers, has installed OptiSaveTM on board 9 vessels; 7 bulk carriers and 2 tankers and more will follow. Hybrid System in Fiji: The Sun Saves Fuel
When you think of Fiji, you first think of vacation, wonderful beaches with palms and crystal clear water with perfect spots for scuba diving. We also thought of energy: Energy that could help build a more ecological electrical power supply. The existing power supply on the three separate islands of Kadavu, Lakeda and Rotuma around the Fijian mainland had been fully based on diesel generators. Now the SMA Fuel Save Controller 2.0 is helping to integrate solar energy into the power grid. That guarantees more...

“Linking” semi trucks can result in huge fuel savings
Over the past year one of the hottest tech trends has been the race to develop autonomous — or driverless — cars. The journal Nature even featured these vehicles on the cover in early February and quoted experts saying they could hit the road in less than a decade. But this rapid evolution in transportation isn’t limited to passenger vehicles. Lead by companies such as Peloton, “linked” semi trucks are already being tested on America’s interstate highway system. The technology...
