Combination of terracotta solar panels, LED luminaire, charge controller together with matching battery packs integrated inside the pole created one of a kind solution, which allowed this project to go off-grid with street lighting and bypass the need of power cables underground. Blending solar modules together with pattern cut stainless steel pole took this street lighting project in Heritage Majlis (United Arab Emirates) to the next level. Lighting poles are cut out in a similar pattern as trees nearby, whereas combination of pole color and altogether design matches perfectly to its surroundings. The project also aims to boost cultural tourism, which is a key focus in attracting visitors to the emirate. It will create new cultural and commercial opportunities and is expected to ultimately attract 12 million visitors to this district as soon as 2020.
