The particle size of the raw material used in the pellet mill can influence pellet quality and pellet mill productivity dramatically.
How Pellet Mill Works
Die
The die is adopted stainless steel as the material of pellet mill. The pellet mill dies are machined to exacting tolerances, then drilled by computer controlled state-of-the-art gundrills. This drilling process produces an ultra smooth, mirror-like hole ensuring good pellet quality and a trouble free start-up. Special heat treating technology ensure hardness and long life.
Working Area
The working area in the pelleting chamber is the area where the material is received at it's own density, compressed and then forced through the holes in the die. there are two supporting sections of the work area: Compression Area and Extrusion Area.
Die

The place that the feed has reached pellet density and is forced to flow through.
The die holes
Incoming feed flows into the feeder and is delivered uniformly into the conditioner for the controlled addition of steam and/or molasses.
From the conditioner, the feed is discharged over a permanent magnet and into a feed spout leading to the pelleting die. Inter-elevator flights in the die cover feed the mash evenly to each of the two rolls. Feed distributor flights distribute the material across the face of the die.Friction driven rolls force the feed through holes in the die as the die revolves. Cut-off knives mounted on the swing cover cut the pellets as they are extruded from tthe die. The pellets fall through the discharge opening in the swing door.
