Influence of streamer-to-glow transition mode on the NO removal by an inductive energy storage type pulse power generator
Courtesy of Inderscience Publishers
Influence of streamer-to-glow transition on NO removal from a simulated diesel exhaust gas is described in this paper. A coaxial cylinder nonthermal plasma reactor was driven by an inductive energy storage pulse power generator employing a fast recovery diode as semiconductor opening switch. The NO removal increased with input energy into the reactor. The energy efficiency for 30% NO removal was obtained to 25 g/kWh and decreased to 5 g/kWh with increasing capacitance of the energy storage capacitor from several hundred pF to several nF. The efficiency was successfully improved from 5 to 20 g/kWh by improvement of the circuit.
