Minicipal Waste Incinerator Case History
Courtesy of W. L. Gore & Associates
Low temperature plant operation had resulted in severe baghouse corrosion and constant dust blockages throughout the system. It was decided to raise the operational temperature of the incinerator and change the acid gas scrubbing agent from lime to sodium bicarbonate. However, the existing felt filter media could not cope with the change in acid gas scrubbing agent and “blinded” very rapidly leading to an unacceptable baghouse pressure drop.
