Oaklands Hill Wind Farm is located in the Southern Grampians Shire, approximately 3 km south of Glenthompson. The site was first identified by Windlab’s WindScape technology in 2004. Windlab completed the development initially with Investec Bank, and later AGL.
The project was given planning approval in 2008. The project quickly reached financial close in 2009 and began commercial operations in early 2012.
The project is now powering over 28,000 Victorian homes and saves 175,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases per annum. This is the equivalent of planting approximately 1.2 million trees a year.
None of this would have been possible without Windlab’s technical expertise in finding, securing and developing the site.
