Renewable Energy – The Answer to the Rising Problem of Global Warming in India
Earth as we know it is in grave danger. The danger is not from the aliens as shown in various sci-fi thrillers but actually from one of its most evolved inhabitants - humans. Ironically, the solution to this serious problem also lies in the hands of the human race.
Humans are the only earthlings that have the inborn gift to think and create. However, for eons, we humans have been creating tools that have given comfort to us but have depleted the earth off its natural resources. Moreover, in the process of progressing towards a brighter future we have been working against the laws of nature.
As a result, we are faced by a retaliation of sorts from our mother earth in form of natural disasters. If something is not done soon to end this damage, we may soon find it impossible to live on our very own mother earth.
Global Warming- the Main Cause of Concern
Global warming has been the main cause of concern for last few decades. In spite of continuous efforts by various institutions all over the globe, the problem is only rising and has already reached alarming levels. One of the main causes of global warming has been cited as carbon emissions from the use of fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas. The use of these fossil fuels have not only depleted earth of its natural resources but have also lead to increase in carbon emissions due to release of toxic amounts of carbon dioxide in the environment.
Role of India in Global Warming
According to an IEA estimate in 2009, an average Indian is responsible for releasing 1.3 tons of carbon dioxide in the environment. Even though it is much lesser than the world average of 5.3 tons of CO2 per person, India cumulatively accounts for 5 percent of world’s carbon emissions due to its huge population. Resultantly, India is amongst the top 10 list of nations that have incurred heavy damages through natural calamities.
According to environmentalists, the chief cause of global warming in India is the use of wood and biomass for its energy needs. Since major part of India is still dependant on agricultural produce, agricultural waste is predominantly used to provide energy. However, unprocessed agricultural waste not only increases carbon emissions in the environment, it is also less efficient than other energy sources like the biomass briquetting machine processed bio fuel.
Renewable Energy – The Answer to the Problem
India is still largely an agricultural nation. Hence, in order to reduce carbon emissions in this part of the world, special attention needs to be given to efficient management of our agricultural waste. One solution that is already implemented widely is the use of briquetting machines to process the agricultural waste in order to produce low cost and highly efficient blocks of bio fuel. There are some briquetting machine manufacturers in India that allows to bind the bio mass into high density blocks without the use of any chemical based binders making the bio fuel absolutely eco friendly. These blocks of fuel are not only efficient but they also produce much less pollution when burned as compared to other types of fossil fuel like coal.
