UK CERTIFICATES G98 AND G99 FOR VICTRON MULTIPLUS-II
The Victron Energy Multiplus-II, including the GX model, have been awarded G98 and G99 certification after passing tes
The MultiPlus-II is a 48V inverter/charger which combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid.
THE MULTIPLUS-II HAS MANY FEATURES, INCLUDING;
PowerAssist – Preventing overload of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore power connection, the battery charging will automatically be reduced when otherwise an overload would occur.
ESS – The MultiPlus-II is the key component in a Victron Energy Storage System, providing the flexibility to combine with MPPT solar chargers or grid-tied inverters.

Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function) – In the event of grid-failure, or when power is disconnected, the inverter within the MultiPlus-II is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connection loads. Computers and electronics will continue to operate without disruption.
Remote Monitoring and Control – Control the system locally over LAN or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world, using the free VRM application and from the VRM portal website. Able to access through phone, tablet, laptop or PC.
G98 and G99 are requirement standards for generators connecting to the UK grid. This is due to the European Network Codes being implemented.
The EU Network Codes aim to harmonise the technical and market rules to provide a sustainable, secure and competitive electricity market across Europe.
THE ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATION G98 OR EREC G98 IS DEFINED AS;
“Requirements for the connection of Fully Type Tested Micro-Generators (up to and including 16 A per phase) in parallel with public Low Voltage Distribution Networks on or after 27 April 2019”.
The G98 sets out the requirements that must be met before a micro-generator can be connected to the network. The document is aimed at the manufacturers and installers of the micro-generator.
The Engineering Recommendation G99 or EREC G99 is; “Requirements for the connection of generation equipment in parallel with public distribution networks on or after 27 April 2019”.
The G99 is to provide guidance to the DNO’s and installers on all aspects of the connection process. It contains a glossary of terms and diagrams of Power Generating Module types and categorisation.
