For the UK’s leading retailers, it is essential to demonstrate to their customers and shareholders a proactive commitment to minimising environmental impact. With increasing costs of traditional energy and concern over future national fuel stocks, it is more important than ever for commercial energy consumers to reduce their carbon emissions with secure and cost effective solutions.
Fleetsolve have developed a range of bespoke bio-fuel CHP systems which are installed in a number of Tesco Zero Carbon stores Environmental stores and distribution centres. The CHP’s operate in parallel with the national grid and deliver additional back up service as an uninterrupted power supply (UPS). Any surplus power that the stores do not use is exported to the national grid.
The audited carbon reductions achieved by Fleetsolve’s bio-fuel CHP’s have enabled Tesco to become the champion of ‘green technologies’ in the retail sector.
In 2011, Tesco became the first UK retailer to receive OFGEM accreditation for their biofuel CHP schemes which are supplied and operated by Fleetsolve. Tesco continue to work with Fleetsolve utilising biofuel solutions to help them achieve their Zero Carbon strategy.
