The new owners
At almost 74 years old, Svend Bisgaard Kristensen has chosen to sell his company to Morten and Lars.
Morten originally trained as an electronics technician in 1994 and has since his education worked with technology in the agricultural industry. For the past 13 years, Morten has been employed by Alcon and has thereby gained a very large knowledge of boiler technology and combustion of biomass. Most recently, Morten has developed a completely new and future-proof software for Alcon´'s straw boiler. In addition, Morten has for a number of years had a great interest in legislation and standardization in the field of energy. Morten has thus continuously followed the legislative work, and participated in meetings with both the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, the Danish Energy Agency and the Danish Transport, Building and Housing Agency.
Morten lives privately in Låsby, and is treasurer of the local parish council. He is married to Linda and together they have 3 children, Amalie, Ellen and Esther.
Lars is from an agricultural family. He is educated as a farmer, agricultural economist and has an HD in financial consulting. He has been employed in the banking world for 12 years as a senior business adviser. Lars has thus gained a great deal of experience about the economy in agriculture, and the challenges that the industry often experiences. Lars has worked freelance for Alcon since Christmas 2017, and has worked full time for the company for large periods. Lars lives privately in Silkeborg, where his great passion is, among other things, sailing on the Silkeborg Lakes and hunting. Lars is married to Karen. Together they have three children, Johanne, Malene and Carl.
It is thus two experienced gentlemen who are now taking over Alcon.
41 years in the industry
In 1978, Svend Bisgaard Kristensen needed to try something new. He bought an ailing smithy, and when the energy crisis hit the world at the same time, it was obvious to enter the market for alternative energy sources, where there was enormous development potential.
Under the name Skelhøje Maskinfabrik, Svend thus delivered a large number of plants. Svend sold his shares in Skelhøje in the early 90s. After a few years as a freelance engineer, Svend founded the company Alcon in 1996.
The future of Alcon
There is no doubt that competition and the many legal requirements in the industry require renewal, and that the company becomes even more competitive - and the new owners are ready for that!
It is Morten and Lars' plan to continue the values that Alcon has always been known for, namely as a stable and honest partner, where a word is a word. Especially service and overhaul of boiler systems will be a focus area in the future. Therefore, in the future, it will also primarily be Morten and Lars who drive out to the customers and perform service and inspection tasks.
It is also Morten and Lars' plan that Alcon will continue to be at the forefront of the development and production of energy-efficient heating solutions in the future. Thus, the focus is still on heating solutions with biomass, but it is also the plan to gear the company to the future by also being able to offer solutions within heat pumps.
Particular emphasis is placed on solutions for business and agriculture. However, the company will also still produce and market solutions for the private market, but they will primarily be sold through Alcon´'s dealer network.
Alcon has always had a large export, and the plan is to invest even more in this area. Thus, Morten and Lars have already sold the first large straw firing plant for firing with 3 round bales in Hungary.
