Eole Water is the pioneer in the field of water making systems using air as a source of water. The company has invented in particular the first wind turbine able to create drinking water from condensed air. Today, 150 million of people worldwide live in remote areas without any access to safe drinking water. The Eole Water`s mission is to provide these isolated communities with drinking water. Based in Sainte Tulle (04) since the beginning, Eole Water continues to maintain its position as a world leader in the field of wind or solar-powered condensed water production. After more than 18 months of development and testing in France, the WMS1000, the world`s first wind turbine able to produce 1000 liters of water a day from air condensation, was shipped to Abu Dhabi for its first phase of tests in the extreme weather conditions of Middle East.

1997 – 2004 : the genesis of the concept

Marc Parent came up with the idea of a wind turbine that produces drinking water when he lived in the Caribbean. He started by collecting water produced by an air conditioning unit for his own needs, then he moved on to the idea of designing a machine capable of producing water and he combined this process with a wind turbine. This led to a completely independent device for producing electricity and water.

2004 – 2008 : Eole Tech and the initial works

In 2004, Marc Parent decided to found the company “Eole Tech.' It was a design firm with a small workshop, which aimed to develop the very first prototypes of this new technology.

2008 – 2011 : Eole Water and the launch of the WMS1000

After four years of work, Marc Parent completed the development of his model WMS50 (Water Maker System). He then decided to create “Eole Water SAS “. One year later, thanks to the French venture capital equity, a design for a new wind turbine, the WMS1000, was launched with the goal of producing 1000 liters of water per day. The cost of this development represented €2 million.

Eole Water has developed thanks to its proactive innovation policy. The WMS1000 Wind Turbine is proof of this strategy. In France and overseas, Eole Water wants to offer to institutional clients, efficient water and energy production solutions and technologies for remote areas.This vision can be seen through two major operational guidelines:

Building dynamic technological partnerships :
Eole Water considers its suppliers primarily as partners fully involved in Research and Development projects. Thus, technological partnerships have been initiated very early, whether with large industrial groups such as Leroy Somer, Arcelor Mittal, Danfoss or Photowatt, or with dynamic SMEs such as Eole System or Nsys.

Bringing together a creative and effective team:
The quality and experience of its engineers have enabled Eole Water to base its strategy on its capacity to develop new technologies in the field of drinking water and energy.

From Marketing to the Design department, Eole Water is constantly developing cross-cutting actions by stimulating synergies between various professions around ever more creative ideas. The goal is to continue to develop efficient technologies with high added value, capable of providing tangible and reliable solutions which respect the environment.

The will to expand overseas
150 millions people in the world live in remote areas without any access to drinking water. Yet, the development of global infrastructure for water can have a strong positive impact on economic growth in these areas. Global warming and the increase in the world's population will inevitably lead to a rapid increase of the drinking water demand, both in terms of quantity and quality. The challenges are huge when it comes to production and distribution of drinking water.

By using the moisture in the air to create clean water, Eole Water aims to provide a new source of water to communities which lack reliable and sustainable resources to meet the basic needs of the populations living in these remote areas.

The implementation of the first WMS1000 Wind Turbine in Abu Dhabi in the UAE highlights this wish for international development. Eole Water wants to strengthen its international presence very quicky through commercial and industrial partnerships.
