About us
EQTEC has its headquarters in BARCELONA (SPAIN) and is present in several countries, through direct sales offices or distributors or sales agents. Its strong international presence allows the implementation and development of our technologies in building energy projects.
Origins and History
EQTEC began operations in Spain in 1997, bringing together the experience of various professionals in the field of energy engineering possessing over 30 years’ experience in the design and construction of cogeneration plants.
Market developments and the changing needs of customers put EQTEC on a pathway of growth in new business areas, such as waste and biomass gasification plants, photovoltaic solar energy plants and systems for the automation, operation and maintenance of constructed facilities.
Since its inception, EQTEC has been developing an R&D program in biomass and waste thermochemical gasification based on a bubbling fluidized bed gasifier and is today a leader in the design and construction of gasification plants, possessing its patented EQTEC Gasifier Technology.
Its first export order was received in 2006, a biomass gasification plant in Portugal, which was followed by projects in the Dominican Republic, Italy, India, France and Bulgaria.
In 2011, a 6 MWe capacity biomass gasification plant delivered by EQTEC began commercial operation, the largest plant of its kind in Europe.
The company became part of the EBIOSS Energy Group in 2012, a holding company that has been listed on the alternative stock market (MAB:EBI) of the Spanish stock market since July 2013.
EQTEC moved into the larger market of distributed power generation, providing its own technology, proven experience in the field of generation and management skills, thanks to its team of highly qualified professionals that could provide companies with the set-up of energy projects.
