About Us
Point Eight Power – Proud Member of the Reagan Family of Companies
Over 70 years ago, Tom Reagan had a vision of founding a company that would deliver unequaled value to the Gulf of Mexico’s oil and gas market in the service of offshore electrical generation equipment. In 1946, that vision started to become a reality with the creation of Reagan Tool. The name later changed to Reagan Equipment Company.
Fast-forward to today. Tom Reagan’s vision lives on in the Reagan Family of Companies (RFoC). Comprised of two operating companies – Point Eight Power and Reagan Power & Compression – and a corporate entity – Orion South – the impact of this family of companies covers the entire planet.
We take the ‘family’ part seriously. Thomas Nathan Reagan, the son of Tom Reagan, is the current President and CEO, and his son, Brett Reagan is the Chief Administrative Officer. Together, they are driving the Reagan legacy into the future.
Point Eight Power’s History
1978 ushered in a new era with another change in name and ownership. That’s the year Tom Reagan of Reagan Equipment Company bought Anixter Power Systems and renamed it Point Eight Power.
Since then, we have built our client list to over 1,200. In 1981, we relocated from New Orleans into a 31,000-square-foot facility in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. 26,000 square feet were added in 1997. In 1999, we acquired waterfront facilities with a 13,000-square-foot covered work area and seven acres of open work area with direct waterfront access.
In January of 1994, we received our initial ISO Certification and we continue to maintain an ISO Registered Quality Management System through Intertek Testing Services.
Over the years, our dedication to becoming an integral part of our clients’ value chains has paid off in the form of several accolades. Among them ‘Supplier of the Year’ from the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) in 2000; Cutler-Hammer’s OEM Partner of the Year in 1996, 1997 and 1999; and recognition from Saudi Aramco in 1999/2000 for prompt delivery, outstanding team effort and performance contributing to our successful achievement of quality and schedule goals for the Hawiyah Gas Plant Project.
And we won’t stop there. We strive to become and remain an integral part of your value chain. Contact us today, and tell us how we can help you.
