The most common sources of dry cell battery waste are from the following items; portable radios, flashlights, smoke alarms, pagers, cell phones, laptop computers, UPS systems, hearing aids, watches, automobiles, back up power systems, forklifts and emergency lights.
All of these battery types are recyclable today.
The metal compontents call all be resued, and although spent batteries comprise less than 1% of all landfill waste, they account for 88% of all toxic heavy metals found in landfills (i.e. mercury, cadmium, etc.).
WE NEED TO RECYCLE
RMC is fully permitted under the Ministry of Environment Permit No. A120316, to receive and process all waste battery types on site.
