History
Fuchs – a name synonymous not just with high-quality innovative and outstandingly efficient material handlers, but also with a heritage spanning decades that is characterised by excellence in pioneering technology. As early as in the 1960s, the Fuchs excavator 301 was one of the biggest-selling and most popular excavators on the market, and in 1975 the company received a patent for the newly developed hydraulic-lift and slewing cab. No wonder, then, that even today the company culture reflects a high degree of innovation.
1888
The company is founded. Johannes Fuchs commences operations, manufacturing agricultural material handlers.
1950
The first mini-excavator D1 is unveiled in Frankfurt and is a prize-winner. The German Railways subsequently orders 200 machines to support coal-loading operations tender locomotives
1957
Production commences in Bad Schönborn. The legendary F 301 becomes the world’s most popular excavator, with 15,000 machines in operation
1965
The first hydraulic excavator is developed, receiving the 'Gute Industrieform' award, in 1967, at the Hanover Trade Fair
1975
Another successful concept is patented: the first hydraulic-lift, slewing cab. The 20,000th Fuchs excavator is delivered a year later. Hydraulic excavators commence their lap of victory
1980
The versatile crawler crane F 125 is heralded as the last word in innovation for civil engineering. And a special edition of the Fuchs 712 that is as powerful as it is flexible revolutionises scrap handling, navigating its way from one operation to the next at speeds of up to 62 km/h
1991
The pioneering MHL 350 is launched
2002
The definitive focus on specialist material handlers proves to be the right step in the company’s successful trajectory
