The History of Total Wind
Total Wind A/S was founded by Jens Nygaard Laursen who, after 15 years as a Vestas technician, felt that it was time for new challenges. Jens Nygaard Laursen was encouraged to start his own installation company, which was established with the business partner Christian D. Christensen in 2003. Since the very first project in Denmark, many crane, installation, and service projects have been completed all over the world. Today, the company is specialised in turnkey solutions within transportation, installation, service and maintenance, and sale of spare parts for wind turbines - both on- and offshore.
In the summer of 2010, Total Wind partnered up with Industri Udvikling, who entered the group of owners and contributes to the continuous development of the company. Since then, yet another investor has arrived; the Schou-fondet under Palsgaard Gods A/S.
The international expansion of the Total Wind Group has been fuelled by the clients’ projects in the various countries and has through the years developed the organisation into including subsidiaries in 11 different countries on 3 continents with the head office located in Brande, Denmark.
It has been a fast-paced and exciting journey for the company - and it is far from over. Total Wind’s current position in the main markets with the most significant wind turbine manufacturers and wind farm owners, means that Total Wind is also ready for future growth.

Since the beginning in 2003, Total Wind has gained extensive experience with project management, both on- and offshore, within the wind industry.
Our experienced staff of project managers, site managers, supervisors, along with our highly skilled technicians, enables us to work on any kind of turbine anywhere in the world.
Total Wind works in close collaboration with the clients to ensure that all their demands are met - including all demands relating to Health, Safety and the Environment. A project manager is available for the client as well as the personnel on site.
This makes Total Wind the ideal partner for project management within the wind industry.
It is Total Wind’s policy that all operations are conducted with consideration for health, safety and the environment. Our quality management system ensures that the health, safety and environmental aspects are incorporated into the performance already during the project planning phase.
The working conditions for all Total Wind personnel are continuously improved with the objective that all activities are performed without accidents or other risks.
Subcontractors are selected using evaluation criteria that include their safety, environmental and quality performance.
