Project - Development of the Balasausqandiq Deposit
The Balasausqandiq deposit is a very large black-shale deposit containing vanadium and valuable by-products - uranium, molybdenum, aluminium, rare earth metals and carbon. This deposit is unlike the vast majority of other vanadium deposits, either in production or proposed, in that it is not comprised of vanadiferous titano-magnetite and is amenable to a processing method which is much lower in ...

Materials availability and supply chain considerations for vanadium in grid-scale redox flow batteries
A new publication by Volta technical analyst Kara Rodby explores the precarious supply chain that has led to historically high and volatile #vanadium prices and its implications on VRFB deployment at scale in 2030 and beyond. ...

Vanadium Flow Batteries
A major new use of vanadium is now emerging as the electrolyte in VFB’s used for energy storage. Although lithium-ion batteries are better known and are more suitable for mobile applications where weight is important, VFB’s have several advantages for fixed, high capacity and long term storage, either as part of a grid or for isolated mini-grids.
