25 years serving the battery recycling community! Call for papers is open now for the upcoming ICBR in Salzburg in September 2020.
Following record-breaking attendance of 320 attendees at ICBR 2019 in Lyon, ICM, the international leader in the organization of battery, automotive and electronics’ recycling conferences is pleased to announce the call for papers for the 25th anniversary of the International Congress for Battery Recycling ICBR 2020. The conference will be held in Salzburg, Austria from September 16 – 18, 2020.
For the 25th consecutive year ICBR will bring together the international community of experts and decision makers of the entire Battery Recycling value chain, including battery recyclers and producers, collection organizations, OEM’s, policymakers, materials and service providers and many more.
The 2020 program will reveal the newest industry research and latest trends and developments in:
Innovation in Emerging Battery Recycling Technologies on a Global Basis
This topic covers presentations on Battery Recycling processes including active material recovery and secondary materials production. It will cover also the economics of recycling spent batteries after first use or second use.
Battery Materials in a Circular Economy
The importance of battery design to assist materials recovery in a circular economy will be covered under this topic which will include optimization of existing battery collection schemes (Portable and Industrial) as well as the collection of batteries from new applications.
International Perspectives on Extended Producer Responsibility
Environmental issues are leading the political agenda in some countries but are not in many others. How to equate the Responsibility of Producers while optimizing battery collection and recycling? Challenges faced by the second life of lithium batteries should also be considered from a responsible producer perspective.
The EU Batteries Directive Review
Contributions on the update of the review of the Batteries Directive 2006/66/EC will inform participants about the latest development in this area.
Lithium Batteries Transport and Safety
The evolution of the Transport Regulation at United Nations and National levels has an impact on safety and economics of transport of Lithium batteries. The proposals shall also concentrate on field experiences and hazard management during Lithium batteries transport, sorting and storage.
