Shiv Shukla: With so much of focus on solar power by Indian government there are following opportunities:
As a project developer as IPP

EPC work for solar thermal power plants
Equipment and component manufacturing for solar power

CSP Today: How do you think the 'New Solar Mission' will change the CSP industry worldwide?
Shiv Shukla: With targets having been set under NSM there will be a huge demand for equipment and component as well as technology providers. There will be market for almost 200 billion Euros worth of equipment and services for solar power.
CSP Today: What is the biggest challenge facing CSP developer in India? How can it be overcome?
Shiv Shukla : Securing land and obtaining various clearances for the project is biggest challenge facing CSP developers. Authorities at central and state, both levels need to be better coordinated to overcome this. Also, tariff for solar thermal are not very attractive and need improvement. Hopefully regulators will be revising it upward.
CSP Today: How will the 1st Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Summit India help the industry move forward?
Shiv Shukla: It will bring together domestic and international stakeholders to share their experiences in developing the industry.
CSP Today: Why are you speaking at this event and what will you be discussing at the event?
I would like to share our experience in developing CSP projects in India and sell the Indian solar power story to mobilize a common effort to develop solar power in India.
