Since early 2012 the Austrian solar heating expert TiSUN has been producing its absorbers with a unique manufacturing process. The “Austrian Institute of Technology” has now confirmed an increase in efficiency of more than five percent for the new TiSUN FM module collectors. The FM module collectors are in the top ranks in a worldwide comparison in the field of collector efficiency.

“In January 2012 we changed our absorber production process. We are proud to confirm that thanks to the new technique the efficiency of our FM collectors is up to 82.3 percent,” explains TiSUN CEO Robin M. Welling. In comparison with similar module flat plate collectors with collector sizes between 1.8 and 2.6 m² without anti-reflection glass the TiSUN FM-S 2.55 reaches an n0-value of 0.823, which is 5.4 percent more than in the previous model FM collector and far above the majority of competitors. The unique absorber machine, which TiSUN pioneered and uses exclusively, welds the meander pipes to the absorber plate with a high-tech laser while bending simultaneously. This results in an optimum connection between the materials and improved thermal transfer.

TiSUN managing director Robin Welling is pleased that customers will benefit from TiSUN’s investment in the absorber manufacturing facility: “The collector performance of the new TiSUN FM collectors is particularly high. Apart from the FM collector 2.55 the smaller collector 2.0 also improved in performance.”
