Background:
The Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on renewable energy is organised for the 7th time by EUFORES. As the previous ones, the 7th IPM will be a high-level dialogue on renewable energy amongst Members of the European Parliament and
Members of the EU-27 Parliaments. The meeting will allow the Parliamentarians to exchange views on renewable energy measures, to strengthen their network and to debate how to successfully create the best possible policy frameworks in the related field. October 2007 will be a very important moment in European energy policy: Crucial decisions about the future of renewable energy (EU Renewable Energy Framework Directive) will be on the agenda and European Parliamentarians have to play an important role in order to maintain and even improve European policies. The new Renewables Framework Directive is expected to be tabled by the European Commission by November 2007.
