Accolades for Clarke Energy on Ground-Breaking Beyondie Sulphate of Potash Mine Project
Clarke Energy has successfully completed a key milestone for Kalium Lakes Limited’s Beyondie Sulphate of Potash (SOP) mine in Western Australia and received high praise from the project’s Construction Manager, Paul Ross.
De-risking a One-of-a-Kind Project
Clarke Energy has been contracted to deliver clean and reliable power for the project – the first of its kind in Australia – and making Kalium Lakes one of only a handful of primary SOP producers globally.
Clarke Energy’s $10 million contract includes the design, supply, install and commissioning of a 7.5MW power plant comprising of three high efficiency natural gas fuelled 2.5MW INNIO Jenbacher 616 gas engines and a Kohler KV440 diesel black start generator.
In addition to the power station construction works, Kalium Lakes have engaged Clarke Energy to supply five KOHLER generator sets ranging from 165kVA to 715kVA to deliver power for the village and pumping stations.
Powering on with Safety and Performance
Work completed at the Beyondie site by Clarke Energy’s construction team:
- Setting up and marking out slabs
- Erect switch room and placement of generator sets on slabs
- Unload and position acoustic enclosures over generator sets
- Unload and position transformers
- Bolt down switch room, unload exhaust stacks and radiators
- Prepare and fit radiators, access stairs and handrail
- Equipment used: 200T crane and telehandler
- Safety stats: 8 work permits issued, 7 pre-start meetings, 60 blood alcohol tests, nil incidents to report.
