Advanced Cyclone Systems wins projects in South Africa, Brazil and Chile
Advanced Cyclone Systems (ACS) is a company created in the scope of COTEC's CoHitec program, acting in the area of particle separation with optimized cyclone technologies. After raising capital with Espírito Santo Ventures (ESV) in June 2009, Pedro Ribas Araújo (CEO), graduated in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and MBA from the Nova University of Lisbon, and Romualdo Salcedo (CTO), full Professor in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, started the commercialization of the innovative ReCyclone® systems. The scope of application is exclusively industrial and includes particulate matter emission control and powder recovery in pharmaceutical, food and chemical processing.
The competitive and economic advantages of the technology, comparing to common equipments, as bag filters, allowed the company to gain worldwide prominence and to build a commercial global network, being present in many European countries, as well as USA, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia, through partnerships.
ACS won recently new orders from South Africa, Brazil and Chile, for particulate matter emission control in ferrous alloy furnaces and biomass boilers for energy production. The value of orders associated with these projects can rise up to 3M€ in 3 years.
ACS received in the first half of 2011 orders close to 1M€, a growth of 100 % over the same period last year. Exports exceeded 70 % of the turnover and the manufacture is almost exclusively national, with a strong predominance of the metal industry.
