ANDRITZ to equip new hydropower station in Pakistan
ANDRITZ HYDRO, part of international technology Group ANDRITZ, has received an order from Daelim Lotte Joint Venture to supply the electromechanical equipment, hydraulic steel structures, penstocks, and control systems for the Gulpur hydropower station, Pakistan. Start-up is scheduled for mid-2019. The order value amounts to approximately 65 million euros.
ANDRITZ HYDRO is to supply two turbine generator sets, each with an output of 52 megawatts, for a head of 57 meters to the new hydropower station on the Poonch River in northwestern Pakistan. Due to the high sand content in the river water and the resulting severe abrasion, the Kaplan turbines will be protected by the highly resistant ANDRITZ HYDRO SXH™ coating. Another special feature: The runner blades and guide vanes of the turbines can be replaced quickly and easily without disassembling the turbines.
