ANDRITZ to supply electromechanical equipment for the Srinagarind hydropower station, Thailand
ANDRITZ HYDRO, a part of international technology Group ANDRITZ, has received an order from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to supply electromechanical equipment for the Srinagarind hydropower plant, Thailand. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin mid-2019.
This rehabilitation order includes the supply of three vertical Francis runners, including model test, generators, governors, automation system, main transformer, medium- and low-voltage switchgears, power and control cables, fire protection system, a 230-kilovolt disconnecting switch, the main inlet valve, mechanical auxiliaries, installation supervision, and commissioning. The hydropower plant houses five units with a total output of 720 megawatts.
The Srinagarind Dam is an embankment on the Khwae Yai River in Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi Province, regulating the water level of the river and generating sustainable hydroelectric power.
