Announcing the Spring Biofuel Congress 2008
Russian biofuel branch is relatively young, however it has attracted attention of the business, government and NGOs and shows rapid growth. While benefits of the liquid biofuel are being debated by ecologists and NGOs, the perspectives of solid biofuel for private usage and communal services are evident. Presently, according to branch experts, solid biofuel can become the most effective substitute to coal and oil.
The Spring Biofuel Congress, which takes place each year in Saint-Petersburg, Russia is the only large scale event, devoted to solid biofuel in Russia. In 2008, the Biofuel Congress will take place on April, 8-10, in the conference halls of the Exhibition Center Lenexpo. For the fourth time the Congress will gather solid biofuel producers and users from Russia, CIS and other countries. Around 300-350 participants from more than 10 countries are expected to attend the congress.
The Spring Biofuel Congress today represents the most reputable business platform for finding new partners in the biofuel branch in Russia. “Our reputation speaks for itself, as the participants come back to us each year”, says Anton Ovsyanko, Director of the Biofuel Portal.
In 2008, the congress format will not change: the congress will host two conferences: - “Fuel Pellet: Russia and the World 2008” on April, 8-9 and “Heat out of Waste 2008. Modern Technologies for Biofuel Combustion” on April, 10. Main topics for discussion include biofuel production technologies, project financing, perspectives of Russia in export of the fuel pellets and the possibilities of the internal market. Cogeneration of biomass for heat and electricity production will be discussed separately within the frames of the conference “Heat out of Waste 2008. Modern Technologies for Biofuel Combustion”. As previously, attention will be paid to the questions of state politics and legislation in the area of alternative energetics, biomass and biofuel usage.
This time participants of the Spring Biofuel Congress will be able not only to listen to the theses and take part in discussions on the actual topics of biofuel branch, but also visit the specialized exposition in the halls of Lenekspo on the Vasilyevskii Island.
Among participants of the Congress there are RAO “Bumprom”, representatives of the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation, ZAO “North-Western Forestry Company”, largest producers of equipment for biofuel production, boiler producers, producers of cogeneration installations, as well as major financial organizations.
