A one-stop course that provides a unique certification to assess organisation towards ESOS requirements in the UK and beyond.
A few days after the introduction of the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme Regulations 2014 (ESOS) in the UK, we can proudly state that delegates who will successfully complete our CEA incorporating ISO 50001 Development and Audit Training Course will be entitled to apply for inclusion in the Approved Registers of ESOS Lead Assessors.
Under the Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU) European Governments are required to implement national regulatory schemes to become more energy-efficient economies. The ultimate goal is to “accelerate the spread of innovative technological solutions and improve the competitiveness of industry in the Union, boosting economic growth and creating high quality jobs in several sectors related to energy efficiency.”
The UK has enacted the European requirements by creating the ESOS programme, a mandatory energy assessment scheme for all large firms in the private, government and non-for-profit sectors, for all organisations with;
- more than 250 employees
- or less than 250 people but with an annual turnover in excess of 50 million euro, and an annual balance sheet in excess of 43 million euro.
These organisations that fall under the remit of ESOS must carry out energy assessments at their premises every 4 years to identify cost-effective energy saving measures. Only ESOS Lead Assessors included in the Approved Registers are entitled to sign off organisations compliance to the scheme’s requirements, and CEA certified auditors are on top of the list.
Organisations can choose to avoid periodical ESOS assessments by commencing an ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems certification journey before 5 December 2015. That assurance scheme will save them following 4-year review of their energy policies.
