Bioethanol dispersing – world challenge
Bioethanol dispersing finds broad application in a national economy as solvent, also it is applied in production of a butadiene, as fuel for rocket engines, car engines, antifreeze, etc., it is an important intermediate product of organic synthesis (in production of esters, celluloid, artificial silk, ethyl aldehyde, acetic acid, chloroform, ethyl oxide and other products). Ethanol contains various impurities (aldehydes, air, the highest alcohols and other chemical compounds) in macro quantities which form a specific taste depending on a type of processed raw materials. Bioethanol dispersing is received on fermenting installations from ferment of starch and sugar containing raw materials and from the raw alcohol which received from the same types of raw materials.
At production of alcohol from raw alcohol is applying the rectifying installations consisting of epuration and rectifying columns. The rectifying installations equip with additional columns (final purification of alcohol, fusel rectifying, for allocation of ethyl alcohol from head fraction) for increase of productivity and quality of rectifying alcohol, improvement of allocation of fusel oil. Processing of alcohol from grain and potatoes is carried out by the same technology and consists of the following stages:
preparation of raw materials for processing
boiling of starch-containing raw materials
sugar using for starch-containing raw materials
cultivation of yeast
ferment of processed material
ferment distillation
alcohol rectification.
Opportunity to use alcohol as a source of mechanisms, in mix with gasoline or other fuel is possible. Bioethanol dispersing is the most widespread alcohol which can be used by various devices as fuel. It is not a secret that rational designing of thermo stable enzymes (capable to work with high activity at temperatures 100ос and higher) for modern industrial reactors has huge practical value. For example, biotechnological production of bioethanol using thermo stable enzymes and its use as fuel in the form of 10-20% as additive in gasoline was widely adopted in many countries. Ethanol value as motor fuel is caused by that is cheap, safe and easily transported liquid, calorific ability of ethanol makes about 70% of calorific ability of gasoline. Ethanol increases octane number of the gasoline which isn’t containing ecologically harmful tetra ethyl lead. Also fuel mixes in which the content of ethanol doesn’t exceed 20%, can be used in all modern cars without engine modernization.
On the plants of final gasoline production, one of the leading processes is compounding process. This process provides receiving the high-octane gasoline which responds to all requirements. At the same time for improvement of received gasoline quality and its production is searching the ways of technology improvement process. Interest to alcohols is caused by a ratio between their prime cost and their useful properties as gasoline components, their ability to increase octane number. Adding of alcohols and oxygen-containing substances works not monotonously. For example, with ethanol additives (to 2-3%) sharply raise properties of a mix. For compounding of gasoline bioethanol blending systems are used. This system is intended for preparation of commodity oil products in a mode of intensive mixing of various components in a cavitator for achievement of the quality, to relevant requirements of standards.
