Polysolar was requested to provide the PV glazing for the stairwell curtain walling and the decorative rainscreen cladding. This saw the first truly transparent curtain wall elements employed in the UK and a BREEAM rating of Excellent.
Objective:
Generate renewable energy whilst utilising a weatherproof and artistic façade. Overall building requirement to achieve BREEAM Excellent.
Result:
Polysolar's thin-film solar photovoltaic glass, when fitted as a double glazed unit, offer U-values of 1.2 W/m2K and G-values of 0.42. These figures are fundamental in driving the building into the highly coveted BREEAM category of Excellence.
