Cemig recognizes Eaton was one of its best suppliers for the 2nd year in a row
The awards, which took place on May 21st, evaluated the performance regarding price, supply, registration, quality and assurance.
BELO HORIZONTE, MG – BRASIL -- For the second year in a row, Eaton, a global power management company, which in 2012 acquired Cooper, has been chosen as one of the best suppliers of CEMIG (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) in 2013. The event, which took place on May 21st, gathered numerous participants in the company’s auditorium.
The initiative is aimed towards valuing the relationship of trust of Cemig and suppliers that attained the excellence of supply, through the granting of Cemig Certificates of Assured Supply of Material. The performance regarding price, supply, registration, quality and assurance is evaluated.
As an active supplier for about 15 years, Eaton had greater penetration in Cemig over the last 5 years and established itself as a qualified manufacturer of reclosers, connectors and spare parts. The company also offers power capacitors and capacitor banks manufactured in Brazil.

In Minas Gerais, it is responsible for 96% of concession area, with more than 7.5 million consumers, in 774 municipalities, and its operation reaches 23 Brazilian states, in addition to the Federal District and Chile”, said Flavio Marqueti, the general manager of Eaton-Cooper.
The acquisition of Cooper – for USD 13 billion – turned Eaton into the world leader in power management, adding competences proven in the distribution of smart grid power, lighting controls, power installation services and safety solutions.
