Climate protection and energy efficiency with raw material waste
At this year’s “waste to energy” event representatives from environmental departments, municipal waste management officers, and industry specialists can obtain comprehensive information on sustainable waste disposal and production of bioenergy. The international exhibition and conference takes place for the fourth time at the Bremen Exhibition Center on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 December 2008. The organizer is Messe Bremen in co-operation with the consulting company Freesen & Partner GmbH.
Climate protection and energy efficiency constitute the key focus of the program which with more than 70 contributions invites critical discussion and exchange. The conference will start by asking what contribution energy recovery from waste and biomass can make towards climate protection. Representatives from waste management, energy production and politics will discuss this topic in the opening round. An international comparison will be drawn between neighboring European states and the USA, the partner country of “waste to energy” in 2008. In the lecture program experts from Germany and abroad will present scenarios for plant optimization, new recycling techniques and operational experiences. Special topics such as biogas, landfill gas and biofuels will be discussed in detail. Simultaneous translation is available for all the conference contributions.
Further highlights within the program include technology presentations and two workshops which are free of charge to all exhibition visitors. The USA workshop provides information on waste management and bioenergy production in the partner country and takes a look at the conditions for successful market entry. The workshop “Urban Mining” is about the effective combination of material and energy recycling of waste from the municipal and private industry sectors. Parallel to the lecture program companies and research institutes will present the latest developments in plant and process technology and engineering.
“waste to energy“ which is held under the patronage of the Federal German Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety will take place in Hall 5 of the Bremen Exhibition Center on 10 and 11 December 2008.
