Con Edison's SVP of Central Operations Names Electrification the Top Energy Trend for 2023
January 17, 2023 -- Citing seven years left to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent, Con Edison's Steve Parisi, senior vice president of Central Operations, has named electrification the top energy trend for 2023 in the first Plugged In podcast of the year.
'Electrification is about climate change and reducing carbon emissions to the environment,' said Parisi. 'Con Edison has already gotten started building and adapting the grid to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy. It's part of our Clean Energy Commitment.'
To meet New York's clean energy goals, Con Edison is increasing the capacity of its energy delivery system to meet the demands of electrification and renewable energy sources. It is solving the challenges of reliability that intermittent energy sources pose and making the grid more resilient against the stress of extreme weather.
Listen to Steve discuss this and other topics and trends impacting New Yorkers and the energy industry in 2023 in the latest episode of Plugged In.
Plugged In is Con Edison's podcast about all things energy.
