Business leaders to discuss path forward for wind in Canada
TORONTO, Oct. 9, 2012 /PR Newswire/ -- The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) kicks off its 28th Annual Conference and Exhibition in TorontoSunday Oct. 14. Wind energy is playing an increasingly important role in meeting Ontario'sdemand for clean, reliable and cost effective electricity. Nearly 40 per cent of Canada'swind generating capacity is in Ontario. As Canada'slargest wind energy market, Ontariohas almost 2,000 MW of installed capacity and an additional 5,500 MW under contract to be built or scheduled to be procured by 2015.
The opening plenary session Mon., Oct. 15will feature a dialogue among industry leaders on Ontario'ssuccess to date and the work required to capture even more of wind energy's economic and environmental benefits for the province.
The conference sessions will cover a broad range of key issues in the wind energy industry such as manufacturing, supply chain, technical issues, operations and maintenance, community engagement, and business development.
