KB Home and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia have teamed up to design a net zero energy home. Unveiled this week at the National Association of Home Builders International Show, the joint design features a traditional exterior and an open interior floor plan while achieving the net-zero standard, meaning that it produces more energy than it consumes over a one-year period. The home incorporates new technologies such as a real-time energy monitoring system and a solar thermal water heater. KB Home has been ranked Number One on a list of publicly traded home builders making progress on sustainability.
