Cyclone Power Technologies Receives Patent in Japan For its All-Fuel, Clean-Tech Engine
POMPANO BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cyclone Power Technologies (OTCQB: CYPW), developer of the all-fuel, clean-tech Cyclone Engine, announced today that it has received patent protection on its engine technology in Japan.
Japan is one of the last industrialized nations to issue a patent on the Cyclone Engine (18 other nations have done so), and also one of the most important for the Company’s strategic growth plans. In addition to its manufacturing strength in the automotive sector, Japan leads the world in small-scale combined heat and power (micro-CHP) for home usage. Micro-CHP is an area of power generation ideally suited for Cyclone’s compact, clean burning and multi-fuel capable engine. Recently, Cyclone presented its technology at the national CHP conference in Houston.
Christopher Nelson, Cyclone’s President, stated: “Lately, we have been receiving considerable interest and visitors from Japan. Finding efficient new methods of producing distributed power has become of upmost importance to Japanese industry and government. As our discussions with these groups progress, we have a better level of comfort knowing that our intellectual property is now secured.”
The Cyclone Engine is a compact, high-efficiency, reciprocating Rankine cycle engine. Over the past two years, Cyclone Engines have been tested to run at efficiencies over 30%, exceeding most current gas-powered engines on the market. Higher efficiencies equate to better gas mileage and reduced emissions within automotive applications. Because the Cyclone Engine runs on virtually any heat source, there are numerous other commercial applications for this technology including micro-CHP (and larger cogeneration systems), solar thermal power, and waste heat recovery.

About Cyclone Power Technologies
Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine – an all-fuel, clean-tech engine with the power and versatility to run everything from waste energy electric generators and solar thermal systems to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is an eco-friendly external combustion engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel - including bio-diesels, syngas or solar - while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. The Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers’ AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was recently named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit www.cyclonepower.com.
