Direct energy releases 2009 corporate responsibility report
Direct Energy, one of North America's leading energy and services companies, along with its parent company, Centrica plc., published its 2009 Corporate Responsibility report today. Direct Energy's three signature corporate responsibility focus areas are climate change and environment, customer service and vulnerable customers. Key highlights of the 2009 report include:
- Carbon intensity of our power generation fleet out-performed industry averages at 321 grams CO2/kWh
- Volunteer hours reached 1.3 hours/employee
- Customer satisfaction scores increased from 6.9 to 9.5 year-over-year
- Lost time injury rates dropped by 13%
- Centrica was ranked as a top performing company by the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
