Eaton earns spot on 2013 informationweek 500 list of top technology innovators across America for sixth consecutive year
CLEVELAND -- Power management company Eaton today announced that the company made this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. Eaton has been named to the list six years in a row.
InformationWeek recognized Eaton for a Web application the company developed to check serial numbers on its products to stop counterfeiters from creating and selling fake products into the marketplace. The application is now live in the United States and China with plans to deploy in additional countries.
“We’re honored to be a repeat winner of the InformationWeek 500 Award for our innovative applications of technology,” said Bill Blausey, Eaton senior vice president and chief information officer. “Eaton is committed to anti-counterfeiting technologies and programs, and we strive to protect our customers from counterfeits that exist in the new global economy. All forms of counterfeiting are unacceptable, but electrical product counterfeiting has dangerous implications for industry and the public.”
'The theme of this year's InformationWeek 500 is digital business. “Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The organizations in our ranking are leading the way,' said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston.
For more than 30 years, InformationWeek has provided millions of IT executives worldwide with the insight and perspective they need to leverage the business value of technology. InformationWeek provides CIOs and IT executives with commentary, analysis and research through its thriving online community, digital issues, webcasts, proprietary research and live, in‐person events.
