Eaton Names Arun Raha Vice President and Chief Economist; Jim Meil to Retire on April 30
CLEVELAND -- Power management company Eaton (NYSE:ETN) today announced that Arun Raha has been named vice president and chief economist, effective May 1. He succeeds Jim Meil, who will retire April 30. Raha will report to Richard H. Fearon, vice chairman and chief financial and planning officer.
“Arun has been a valued member of Eaton’s corporate economics team for a number of years,” said Fearon. “He is an accomplished economist with a detailed knowledge of our markets.”
Raha joined Eaton in 2000 as senior economist and was subsequently named manager, Development and Planning. He left Eaton in 2005 and worked as vice president, Economic Research and Consulting for Swiss Re and chief economist, state of Washington in 2008. Raha rejoined Eaton in 2012 as director, Economic Analysis.
Raha holds a bachelor’s of economics from Hindu College, University of Delhi, India; a master’s of economics from the Delhi School of Economics; and a PhD in economics from Washington State University.
Meil will retire after 29 years of service with Eaton.
