Eaton names Chuck Jenkins corporate Director of safety
CLEVELAND -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Chuck Jenkins has been named corporate director of safety. “Chuck brings a breadth and depth of great safety experience and will provide key leadership for Eaton’s achievement of a zero-incident safety culture,” Harold Jones, senior vice president of environment health and safety, said. “Our goal is to change the way every Eaton leader and employee thinks and behaves related to safety. Eliminating safety incidents requires a corporate culture genuinely and continuously focused on achieving zero safety incidents. Chuck will be instrumental in helping us identify gaps, strengthen leadership and involve employees in our safety culture change.”
In this role, Jenkins will be responsible for setting and driving the safety strategy for the company, including physical safety, ergonomics, human and operational performance, and industrial hygiene. In addition, he will engage with the machine guarding teams to help drive effective and cost-effective solutions across Eaton.
Jenkins, a certified industrial hygienist, comes to Eaton from GE’s Aviation business where he was responsible for safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics, providing leadership, technical direction, and oversight for world-class health and safety programs. Jenkins also worked with MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. as a principal scientist and program manager for health and safety programs with many Fortune 500 clients. Earlier in his career, he held leadership and program management roles in industrial hygiene at other consulting and engineering firms. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
