Energy Leadership Summit to Headline Industry and Government Leaders to Discuss Critical Issues For Natural Gas, Transportation Infrastructure and Transmission
As the 40th Anniversary of the 1973 Energy Crisis approaches, we are reminded what a nation with an unsecured energy supply can endure when other nations decide to turn against us. With this historic event upon us, we gather with the nation’s top energy, power generation, electricity and government leaders to meet at the Western Energy Leadership Summit in Keystone, Colorado scheduled for May 19-21, 2013.
Highlighting our top speakers including Congressman Cory Gardner is confirmed for the summit and Governor John Hickenlooper will likely provide updates for key energy policy issues and will set the stage for more investment and M&A in the industry. The finance and M&A panels will include Jason Satsky, Managing Director for Energy Investments at Bank of America, Michael Proskin, Managing Director for Energy Investments for Credit Suisse and Gary Greenblatt, Managing Director of Marathon Capital.
“We are excited to present an all-star program at the Western Energy Leadership Summit. The summit will focus on the key issues of investment/finance, energy policy and regulations, said Randy Stratton, President of Ener4orum the hosting organization. With government leaders including representing several states and federal agencies, we will ensure a lively discussion about the critical energy assets and infrastructure needed to meet the demands for transportation fuels and power generation requirements in 2025.
The summit will bring together leaders from the utility, natural gas, renewables, regulatory, federal and state governments, academia, trade groups, NGOs, and research companies to address the opportunities and urgency to develop more investment and expansion in power generation, natural gas, transportation infrastructure, transmission capabilities for the western US, Canada and Mexico.
“Colorado has long been recognized for its progressive, balanced oil and gas regulations. Our frack-fluid chemical disclosure rule, adopted in December 2011, has served as the model for several other states,” said Matt Lepore, Director, Colorado Oil & Gas Commission. “At the summit, I will explain what lead Colorado to become the first state to require pre- and post-drilling groundwater sampling. We are committed to realizing the tremendous economic and energy-security promise of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, while protecting our magnificent environmental resources.”
“This leadership summit is well positioned to bring together the top executives in the industry and government that are working to solve our greatest challenges to establishing new energy corridors and natural gas developments for the US and Canada, said Randy Stratton, Summit Director. “We can solve these challenges with the private sector working with the government to fund research and developments in natural gas, solar, and Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV). We must move these initiatives forward now before we fall further behind of the rest of the world.”
The 2013 Western Energy Leadership Summit Sponsors and participating companies and organizations to date include: Faegre Baker Daniels, Canada, Columbia Grid, Alston & Bird, Encana, Chrysler, RES Americas, San Diego Gas & Electric, California ISO, Northern Plains Power Technologies, Tetra Tech, Lucky Corridor, Geronimo Wind, Wyoming Infrastructure Authority and many more.
