ENSR names Dr. Geoffrey Roberts to Key Executive Position
ENSR has named Dr. Geoffrey Roberts its client development lead for BP in the UK. ENSR, part of AECOM, is a leading global environmental management consultancy.
Dr. Roberts, who also leads ENSR UK’s Sustainability and Systems practice, will expand this role by serving as the company’s main UK business development manager for BP, a global key client for ENSR.
Based in ENSR’s Bristol office, Dr. Roberts has 30 years of international experience with the oil, gas, and chemical industries. He has particular expertise in environmental health and safety (EHS) and knowledge management systems, mergers and acquisitions, and the European Union (EU) regulatory framework, including extensive knowledge of the EU’s REACH regulations affecting chemical substances. A member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Dr. Roberts has held senior management and leadership positions in global EHS auditing and risk assessment.
Dr. Roberts coauthored ENSR’s recent white paper on Integrated Product Policy (IPP) which discusses all phases of product development and production, including design and quality control, and product and component distribution involving exportation and importation – a key issue for manufacturing clients and their global supply chain partners.
According to Dr. Roberts, “BP is one of the world’s leading energy organisations, and I am eager to help them address challenges and opportunities in their business sectors and their impact on the broader community.” Bruce Gordon, ENSR UK’s Managing Director, added, “Dr. Roberts has the expert technical qualifications and consultancy skills necessary to make a significant difference on client projects and relationships.”
