EnviTec Biogas Signs Contract for 570 kW Biogas Plant in New York State
Go-ahead for the construction of the fourth biogas plant in the US imminent
Lohne, 16. December 2015 – Do all good things come in threes? Not for EnviTec Biogas. The biogas all-rounder from Lower Saxony has just announced the conclusion of its fourth contract in the US. With the 570 kilowatt hour (kW) biogas plant, the operators of New York State-based Lamb Farms Inc. are making a sustainable investment in the expansion of renewable energies.
'Our new customers were particularly convinced by the performance of the biogas plants realised in the US so far,' says Lars von Lehmden, Managing Director of EnviTec Biogas Anlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG. After its planned commissioning in October 2016, the plant will be operated with slurry produced by more than 2,200 Holstein cows. 'The resulting green energy will be sufficient to generate energy for more than 150 households and to meet the energy needs of the farming business itself,' says Steve McGlynn, Managing Director of EnviTec Biogas USA Inc., based in Stanley, New York.
Construction of the biogas plant is being financed in part by subsidies from the New York State Energy & Research Development Agency and the Department of Agriculture. 'Efforts to make renewable energy accessible to as many customers as possible are being supported by the local energy supplier, New York State Electric & Gas,' says McGlynn.
The company, based in Lohne and Saerbeck in Germany, supports its American customers through the company-owned branch office EnviTec Biogas USA Inc. In the words of McGlynn: 'We see ourselves as an all-round service provider and support our customers from the planning and construction to the maintenance of the plant.'
