ERG to join forces with AEA Technology to form a world leading environmental and energy consultancy
ERG, a leading provider of environmental, energy, occupational and environmental health and safety, economic, and IT consulting services to public sector clients, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with AEA Technology (AEA) to join forces to form a world leading environmental and energy consultancy, focused in the U.S. and the European Union.
ERG President and Founder David Meyers, making the announcement from the firm’s headquarters in Lexington, Massachusetts, said: “I am very proud of the growth ERG has experienced over the past 26 years, and of the high-quality work our staff members have consistently performed for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Defense, and many state agencies. Our corporate mission has always been completely aligned with our clients: to protect and preserve the environment, and to protect the health and safety of workers.”
“By joining with AEA we will be able to bring expanded capabilities and experience to deliver our core services to our clients, particularly in the areas of climate change, sustainable energy, transportation, waste management, water quality, air quality, and IT. For example, AEA has experience in climate change policy, low carbon technologies, carbon management, emissions trading, and greenhouse gas inventories. This experience will support and enhance ERG’s ongoing work. AEA has helped the European Commission and the UK Government design and implement a number of climate policies, and we look forward to further using this experience in the U.S. to find solutions to climate challenges.”
Andrew McCree, AEA’s Chief Executive said, “We have the highest regard for ERG, the strong relationships it has with its clients, and the outstanding levels of technical expertise it provides to the U.S. Government. We are delighted to be joining together in what is a transformational moment for AEA as we now become a major force in the U.S. Federal market. ERG not only significantly enhances the scale of the company, but also adds important new capabilities in environmental science, economics and, in particular, water to our world class climate change and energy technical expertise. Together ERG, our strong European base, and our existing fast-growing U.S. business, PPC, position the enlarged company well for the future.”
