ESOS – The clock is ticking...
Part of the UK’s implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, the introduction of mandatory energy auditing for large companies under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) aims to help the EU meet its target of reducing energy consumption by 20% by 2020.
With exactly one year until the ESOS compliance date, it is now time for qualifying participants to prepare themselves by understanding the elements of the scheme and to start working on implementing their ESOS Assessments to ensure full compliance by the 2015 compliance date.
This means that by the 5th December 2015, your organisation must have;
- Established if you are a participant (Qualification criteria can be found here)
- If you are a participant, then you would have appointed a Lead Assessor; and,
- Measured your total energy consumption; and,
- Established and completed your chosen route(s) to compliance; and,
- Notified your compliance to the Environment Agency.
Our in-house Energy Services team are approved ESOS lead assessors on the Register of Professional Energy Consultants (RPEC) and EI Chartered Energy Managers.
