EUEC 2010: NRC chairman Jaczko to keynote USA`s largest energy & environment conference February 1 in Phoenix, with 2,000 delegates and 650 speakers
The Honorable Gregory B. Jaczko, Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, will keynote the 13th annual Energy & Environment Conference (EUEC) to be held February 1 to 3, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Convention Center. Chairman Jaczko will join a record number of 2,000 registered delegates and over 650 senior level speakers presenting at this year’s EUEC Program discussing policy and solutions for USA’s energy independence and the reduction of carbon emissions.
Dr. Gregory B. Jaczko was designated Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission by President Barack Obama on May 13, 2009, after serving as Commissioner since January 2005. As Chairman, he has focused on the NRC being a decisive safety regulator with the confidence of the public. “The drive for energy independence and widespread concern about climate change have cast a spotlight on the nuclear industry both in the United States and around the world,” said Chairman Jaczko. “At this time of change and re-evaluation, the NRC is intensely focused on its mission of licensing and regulating civilian use of nuclear materials, ensuring public health and safety, promoting the common defense and security, and protecting the environment.”
“This year’s conference, brings together senior management professionals at the onset of what will be an active year for energy and environmental policy particularly with the proposed new legislation on climate change and energy independence in the United States,” said Dr. Prabhu Dayal, EUEC Chairman, “To show our support for reducing the seventy percent consumption of foreign oil by the transportation sector, this year’s exhibit hall will provide free exhibit space to promote hybrid and alternate fuel vehicles.”
This will be the first energy & environment conference in the US following COP15 meetings in Copenhagen. Over 650 leading experts will gather for three days to make presentations on cutting edge technologies and solutions concerning the Environment, Sustainability, Electric Utilities, Global Warming, Renewable Energy, Carbon Management & Climate Policy. Over 2,000 delegates have pre-registered for this year’s event.
